A Gameplay handbook of TalkFlow

Recently I discovered a new product called talkflow, which allows video chats with AI characters from all walks of life and with different personalities and backgrounds. It looked very attractive, so I tried it out in depth.

“Explore”

The homepage is a character gallery, which uses a large-screen card-turning mode to help users learn more about the character on the page.

Click anywhere on the character card to enter text chat, and click video call to chat with the character face to face

“Chats”

In the chat interface, the characters that the user is chatting with will be arranged in squares and circles, from the top to the bottom, from the newest to the oldest. Click on a character to enter the chat.

“Creating a character”

Step 1 Upload the reference face and description

The system will generate your character’s face based on the face you uploaded. The picture below shows the guidelines that the picture you provided needs to follow

The description at the bottom of the screen can be automatically generated by clicking the “AI” button, or you can edit it yourself.

It mainly describes the appearance, clothing, etc., not the personality.

Step 2 Determine detailed character information

After confirming the generated avatar and wallpaper, click “confirm” to enter the character’s more detailed information selection. If you don’t want to spend time or don’t know how to write, click random in the upper right corner to generate it with one click.

You can freely edit the first sentence he/she says to you, and describe the character’s background, personality, relationship with you, etc. in detail in the profile description.

Step 3 Chat with your personalized character

Finally, your chat with your self-created character will look like the picture below. Click the icon in the upper right corner of the chat interface to modify the character’s appearance and parameters.

The “My favorite” on the left is the character you have collected in the gallery.

The “My character” on the right is the custom character you created.

Character Video Chat in TalkFlow

As shown in the figure, you can have a smooth and barrier-free video chat with any character, whether it is a built-in character or a user-created character.

You can choose to turn on the subtitle function, which will allow you to understand more clearly what the character said, and on the other hand, you can also intuitively see whether the system correctly recognizes your voice and better communicate with the character accordingly.

For those who want to use this software to practice English with various characters, this subtitle function is undoubtedly a godsend.

TalkFlow Multimodal Interaction

You can send pictures to the characters, as shown in the picture, which makes your interaction with the characters more realistic, interesting and in-depth.

In addition, you can freely choose the voice of your custom character, which will be used in subsequent chats and video calls.

The app already provides a number of different voices.

The most surprising thing is that you can create new sounds of your own, upload existing audio, video or record directly.
